ABOUT US
IFWA is a non-political, non-profit charitable organization established in 1995 by women from all around the world, living in Islamabad. Our committee, drawn from volunteering spouses of foreign diplomats and expats creates an exciting programme of cultural and social activities with profits going to some truly worthwhile causes.
Our principle aims are to raise awareness of the difficulties faced by underprivileged and disadvantaged women and their children, and to raise funds for their benefit. The IFWA Charity Fund gathers donation through the organisation of social, cultural and charitable activities. This of course has the additional benefit of forming greater understanding and bonds of friendship between Pakistan and other countries.
When first founded, its benefits were recognised by the Prime Minister, Benazir Bhutto, who became its Honorary President.
